How the HERCULES Funding Arrangement Works
Instead of treating insurance and contract-risk control as separate expenses, qualifying organisations may be able to use the value generated from their insurance placement to fund the HERCULES Programme.
Step 1
Insurance requirements reviewed
The organisation's construction contract-insurance requirements are reviewed.
Step 2
Suitable requirements placed
Where suitable, qualifying insurance requirements are placed through the relevant appointed or authorised insurance channel.
Step 3
Permitted funding value assessed
The available remuneration, commission or other permitted funding arrangement is assessed.
Step 4
HERCULES programme activated
Following written confirmation, the available funding is applied towards the agreed HERCULES Programme fee, resulting in no separate programme fee or a reduced fee.

Frequently Asked Questions
How can contract insurance help fund HERCULES?
Where an organisation places its qualifying construction contract-insurance requirements through our appointed or authorised insurance channel, the remuneration, commission or other permitted value generated from that placement may be used to fund all or part of the HERCULES programme fee. This is assessed on a case-by-case basis and confirmed in writing.
Is HERCULES automatically free when insurance is placed?
No. Eligibility depends on the nature and value of the qualifying insurance placement, applicable regulatory requirements, commercial terms and written confirmation. Not all applicants will qualify. Submission of information does not guarantee eligibility or funding.
What contractual risks does HERCULES monitor?
HERCULES monitors notices, time-bar exposure, unresolved variations, payment and claim exposure, instructions awaiting written confirmation, delay and liquidated-damages exposure, and emerging disputes. Each programme is scoped to the specific project and contract.
Does HERCULES replace the project's contract or commercial team?
No. HERCULES supports and strengthens the existing project team. It provides independent monitoring, early warning, guidance and executive reporting — it does not replace the organisation's own contract, commercial or delivery personnel.
Who receives the monthly executive report?
The monthly contractual-health dashboard is prepared for senior management — typically the CEO, Managing Director, Project Director and Commercial Director. It highlights matters requiring management intervention, outstanding financial exposure and upcoming contractual deadlines.
Can HERCULES support a distressed project?
Yes. HERCULES can be scoped to provide intensive monitoring, entitlement review, claims preparation support and escalation for projects already showing warning signs. Early engagement is strongly recommended to maximise the benefit.
